In each issue of The Sun you’ll find some of the most radically intimate and socially conscious writing being published today. In an age of media conglomerates, we’re something of an oddity: an ad-free, independent, reader-supported magazine.
SLICE magazine welcomes submissions for short fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. We’re looking for anyone with a fresh voice and a compelling story to share, and we are particularly enthusiastic about championing emerging voices. Tolsun Books Wants to Read Your Work! Tolsun Books, an independent, non-profit press based in the Southwest, is now open for unsolicited submissions. We accept full-length and chapbook manuscripts made from parts: poetry, short-stories, essays, hybrids, translations, and things we couldn't have dreamed of. We value new and experienced, diverse.
Manuscripts will be accepted from February 1, 2020 through April 1, 2020. Please address your submissions to the appropriate editor (i.e. Nonfiction Editor, Fiction Editor, Poetry Editor). Simultaneous submissions are accepted; writers must notify The Normal School immediately if the work is accepted elsewhere. We consider only previously.
Submissions are read year round. Accepted pieces are published on a rolling basis. Payment varies. Because editors are dispersed geographically the review is unable to accept submissions via postal mail. If the general submission portal fails to appear when you visit Submittable it’s because the maximum number of submissions has been received.
